Dining Table

Why

During WFH due to Covid, I craved more space to be creative. I decided to move from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, CA to live in a house with a big garage by the ocean. I used our garage space to make a small wood shop. My first project was a dining table for my roommates and I to enjoy meals at.

 

What

This is an 8’x3’ live edge redwood dining table with a natural varnish oil finish.

I hope that this table outlives me one day.

 

How

I purchased the slab of wood from a local saw mill in the Santa Cruz mountains. The legs are simple black tube steel welded by an LA based metalworker. The entire project was completed with patience and electric hand tools in my garage.
